Welcome our Frequently Asked Questions Section

We've tried to cover most of the common doubts and questions that people have regarding getting inked. If there is any doubt that is not in the list, you could contact us by clicking on the 'Get In Touch' button in the menu.

1: How much time does it take to make one?

It takes an eternity for a client to decide what to do ,where to do it and how to do it and it takes an expert a lifetimes dedication to learn to put the clients thoughts onto the canvas. It Usually takes about 15 mins to set the equipment up once everythings decided, a small tattoo does take about an hour depending upon the design and detail. Big tattoos can be done in parts and pieces. What matters is how much a client is cooperative and willing to go for it from the time the needle touches the skin.

2. Is it safe?

Well if it wasnt, would i be running a business?. Safety of my clients is the highest priority and we make sure that it is taken care off in every aspect of the entire procedure. We use the best quality disposable materials which ensures every client the safest and the most reliable way of getting inked

3 - How much do u charge?

It usually depends upon the design and the amount of work required to finish it but i am sure once u get it done...price is just a number.

4- Do i have to book an appointment?

Imagine waiting eagerly for that special moment and once that moment arrives you get all the attention u need without anyone disturbing or distracting you untill the jobs completed. Well, this is the experience we want to give you and to make it happen, an appointment is a must. There is a lot of thinking, dreaming and skillful execution required because it is "YOUR" special moment and can be only achieved once we have appropriate time and dedicated to it..

5. Does it hurt?

Pain is for temporary period. Pride and tattoo is forever.. Its not like you're gonna get hit by a bus and wreck your bones, its just a tattoo and after the 1st few minutes its more of fun and tickling and we can assure people with a taste for tattoos will agree to this statement.

6. Any precautions to be taken before getting a tattoo?

Nothing much really, keep your mind clear and your stomach full...we will take care of the rest.

7. Can you do modifications and coverups?

Thats our speciality. We can make a design out of anything and everything. It depends on the design though but trust me, you're gonna forget your existing one and get mesmerised by the new and improved "you can go to gallery and check out our some kick@$$ cover ups"

8. What is the age limit to get one done?

We've got clients as old as 80 year olds still with an urge to get inked . Age is just a number. We at skin inks follow a strict policy of 18+ only. Minors wait for your right age and the right state of mind to make a proper decision.

Why Has There Been Such a Rise In The Price Of Tattooing????

Over the last few years the cost of a good tattoo has risen, a lot!! To help you guys understand why and so you don’t think we are just being greedy here’s the lowdown. Years ago tattoos were largely chosen from tattoo flash books, tattoo magazines, essentially designs on a wall created by the tattoo artist once and done over and over again, So effectively you would see many people with the same tattoo. Remember that sacred heart with flames tattoo most of them shippie uncles had on their forearm? As we have evolved we crave to be different individual, this has led to people wanting an original tattoo design. I personally give up two days per week to research, design and prepare stencils ‘unpaid’ but it is essential for best results. Also tattooing has now evolved as an art with some artists creating tattoos close to works from such artists as Michaelangelo and Da Vinci. Tattoo designs can now take hours of research, meticulous stencil preparation and much much more time in shading tones, blends, contrasts and colours. The boom within the industry led to huge production in better quality needles, inks and a large range of hygiene products now essential for maximum safety. Nowadays the studio has also evolved with managers and other necessary staff to provide regular drinks and deal with paperwork and bookings and a lot more, Which all comes at an added cost. The structure for pricing a tattoo is however very outdated, tattoos are still priced on per inch basis or by the piece. This does not take into consideration all of the above. Tattooing is also not back street or underground so much anymore so now we also have the joy of paying lots of lovely tax! BUT!! The change in this fast growing industry has led to truly amazing artwork which can now be seen as something of value and wealth, something worth saving for and given the same worth as art which you would hang on a wall. We hope you embrace this boom and realise it brings only better standards, higher levels of hygiene and safety and ultimately an all round better experience.
